Community founder and Confederate soldier Alexander B. Fraser entered self-exile with his wife Caroline in Honduras rather than pledge allegiance to the Union after the Civil War. His daughter, Anneta, was born in Honduras. The Frazier’s returned to the area in 1876 where Mr. Frazier named the store and freight station he operated after his daughter. The T&P RR changed the spelling to Annetta. The cemetery has been a burial ground since at least 1882 and probably before that date.
